Mashrou3 Hagar

EU & Art Empours!Mashrou3 Hagar (Art Empowers!) is an art project co-funded by Darb 1718 Contemporary Arts and Culture Centre and the European Union in Egypt. The project is a collaboration between young Egyptian artists, women’s empowerment associations, cultural centres and European artists and curators who will conduct a number of information days and workshops at Darb 1718 to discuss burning issues regarding the role of art in women’s empowerment, gender equity and human rights.

The outcome of these discussions and training workshops will be art productions by the selected Egyptian artists that will be exhibited in three geographic locations from the North to the South of Egypt (Alexandria, Cairo and Aswan).

If you are an Egyptian artist and would like to participate in the Mashrou3 Hagar (Art Empowers!) project, please read project details and fill out the application form here.
