Mawaweel is an annual festival held during the holy month of Ramadan for a period of two weeks.  The festival is organized by Darb 1718 Contemporary Art and Culture Center in collaboration with the Cairo Jazz Club Agency.  In 2010, Mawaweel was implemented as part of Fawanees Festival in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in Egypt and sponsored by The Egypt Tourism Authority.  Mawaweel combines a blend of musical and theatrical performances, storytelling and craft workshops and is held at Darb 1718. Mawaweel took place in numerous locations throughout Cairo during the month of Ramadan. The program and activities varied each weekend ensuring there was something enjoyable for everyone.
