Arts, Crafts and Music are three aspects of life that fit together perfectly, so it was no wonder that when the musical minds of the Cairo Jazz Club united with the creative minds from Darb 1718 that the concept of ARTBEAT came into motion!

Robert Fischer and Zaebo are two artists with different professional and cultural backgrounds performing a sound-cloud of electronic beat-patterns, splashed with textures and dreamscapes of acoustic instruments. It may feel like walking through a dark forest - watching the birds, then suddenly the old trees begin to make strange noises and connect with floating butterflies in endless harmony...The sounds of Robert Fischer and Zaebo are unique and impulsive. They use an array of modern loop-based electronic technical equipment in combination with acoustic instruments. You will hear voices, strange and lovely guitar, bass, electronic clicks and pops, rhythm....blending together and changing instantly.

Dutch group A Fula's Call will provide a worldly experience for Artbeat Cairo and El Minia in 2010. Having emerged out of the 'Music World Series' A Fula's Call subsequently hit the road with wheels spinning on tours in Holland, Ukraine, Moldavia, Bulgaria and Russia, followed soon after with the CD release of: Mark Lotz Meets Omar Ka 'LIINGU'. Flutist Mark Alban Lotz has created a unique niche for himself in the field of World Music. He is one of those rare musicians who is as comfortable performing Cuban folkloric music as he is exploring the African roots of Latin music.
A Fula's Call sees Mark joining forces with Omar Ka, a West African griot (a story teller who carries on the oral history of his tribe) who sings about such weighty topics as: truth, honesty, respect, gratitude, happiness, the nomadic life and the walk to Mecca. A Fula's Call music is a mix of different worlds: European, African and Indian. Their mission is to combine the best of all into one sound. Global World Music with a distinct Fulian sound and a European twist. They demonstrate perfectly what happens when people cast their cultural differences aside and join forces for a common cause.
A Fula's Call is accompanied by Egyptian bass player Ahmed Nazmi. Ahmed has performed in many local and international festivals and is considered one of the best bass players in Egypt.

Also the group has starred in two documentary to date, " The Game of the Stick"- directed by Tamer Mohsen (Film Institute) and "The Door"- directed by Abdel-Fattah Kamal.
